It's not bad

I wish my boyfriend would do something this nice for me.

Stalagmite responds:

:o for reals? O_O i always did wonder XD join the club anyways XD, and thanks for checkin it out brah! xxx

Not bad, not good yet.

That was a really ambitious effort, it took me by surprise. However, it's a little over-ambitious. You're attempting techniques and styles that are hard to emulate without the right equipment and technology. The end result sounds amateurish and sloppy. When listening to your favorite performers and artists, bear in mind that most of the music you hear doesn't find its way to your ears until it has been produced and mastered to near-perfection. That, unfortunately, is why your music can't sound like theirs. Don't let that discourage you, though.

The song itself was a little tedious and hard to listen to. There's potential here that is probably not being used the most effectively on something like this. If you tried your hand at something less complex and worried less about sounding like something you're not, you might find that you're happier with your output.

CRASHAKEZULA81 responds:

Thank you for taking the time to give a thought out review. I really appericiate your words and will take them to heart. We may have gotten a little over ambitious, and we are still new to mixing in a sence. We have better equipment coming in, it sounds a lot better live honestly.

We didn't want to over use potential, as far as complicated riffs etc, as this is only the first part in the saga we wanted to just give people a taste, and not the full amount just yet, so because of this a lot of the song was cut. Which may have not been the best way to go about it, but it's all still a working progress. I wanted to post it here to get feedback on our rough copies before we went ahead and paid for studio time, ya know?

Once again, thank you very much for taking the time to review, and I look forword to hearing from you again in the future on our later installments.

Today is a Sunday

I woke up at 4:40 in the afternoon, feeling crusty and withered. It's interesting to me, though, that this song is your Sunday. My Sunday song would be so much more dour and mournful.

whitesymphonia responds:

lol, well my sundays are days when I actually have free time to do stuff, so it's happy for me :) Ofc, I'm tired when i first wake up, but then I'm like, "today's the day I have loads of free time" so then I get more awake :) Dour and mournful would be my mondays, I hate mondays :)

I am very surprised

that no one else has reviewed this. It's pretty great, for what it is. I'll tell you, though, you should start exploring something else. You've really taken this style to its limit and beyond. Good on you for that, but I think you're capable of even more.

Stalagmite responds:

i have started a new lease on life... likely, everything will change now.

thank you :) i will explore more things... i really havent perfected the art of accapella yet though... i have to many ideas ^ ^

Pretty brilliant.

It's funny that you would make a song like this. Just recently I was thinking about how a certain guitar riff in Beat It sounds like a bar from Pop Goes the Weasel.

Stalagmite responds:

hehe! yes you can put anysong to any other really.. so long as they follow a similar theme of minor or major chords :D its super fn to experiment! HAVE A GO dewd! :D

Surprisingly enjoyable.

Typically I find this sort of music to be soulless or devoid of any kind of real soul, given the very nature of what it is. This track, however, felt sort of alive and organic in its arrangement and instrument selection. Plus, it's a very famliar tune, used in a unique and pleasant way here. Nice work on this one.

Box-Killa responds:

Yeah, especially the acoustic guitar half way, it sorta stays ambientish but has a nice hit to it.

I think because it has sort of a lively kinda pad, it makes it seem "organic" and "alive"

Thanks for the review :D

Deceptive.

Listening to this, at first I was wondering why it was so Futuramy, but then it turned into a pretty interesting and clever rendition of 19-2000. The variety of sounds you use to create these tracks is quite dynamic and unique, but the style is always distinctly yours. I like these, however I have always been more impressed by your piano savant status than anything else.

Stalagmite responds:

hehe thats very kind of you age! :D i sure think this is one of my best, and its always nice to get a real review from you :D you truly are awesome :) i should go on msn once and a while. i will soon, so i can speak to you again :)
thanks for the review man :D
oh and its futuramary because its a mix of the futurama riff and the song 19 200 song :)

This makes me sad.

Nothing makes me feel more uncomfortable than depressing religious zealots. A+ to you for capturing that horrible tone.

rednikaiaG responds:

Ha! I'm laughing, NOT because your sadness brings me joy, ageReason------>
But because I thought I was the only was that found themselves, not necessarily frightened, but moreso uncomfortable around this sort of, uber obcessive, and outright level of blatant directional righteousness. Ugh. The thought of most street preachers, make me a bit sad as well. Although, if I heard THIS broad, out there, ranting on and on about the Legion and such, WITH those sound effects, I'd be mortified and run like Hell. (No pun intended. Ha!) Thank Bad-Man-Incoporated for his brilliant writing and request of my mockered up, fanatical voice. Thanks again, for yet, another review.
You are one strange cookie and I value your opinion, Sir. Thanx.

Intoxicating.

Your pirate voice is not bad at all. I'm pretty surprised at how all of your pirate phrases hold up. It seems to me like it's not at all uncommon for folks to just say things that sound piratesque while forfeiting coherency.

rednikaiaG responds:

Yeah, I agree completely, ageReason------>
I DID go to quite a few "Pirate Translating" websites to replace MOST of the normal spoken phrases, written for "his" part. You know, I gotta say, you're the first person, I think, that's complimented THAT specifically, let alone, took the time to investigate if what I was even saying WAS a real phrase or not. Thanks, Man. Hell, I didn't even have to bribe you to come here and let me know what you thought either. Thanks. I'm happy the Pirate Speak was translated by someone else OTHER than myself. Still sux about the time limits on this particular one, but eh, what can you do?
You're awesome, ageReason. Thanks again.

As cold as I am, you made me smile.

I really love the voice of that one girl. The one ordering the soy latté thing. Although, the girl serving up the lattè is pretty good too. The shark voice really made me smile, I like gay cartoon animals.
Your range is still as impressive to me as it ever has been. The writing is good too, some of the concepts are pretty funny to me. Although, it's entirely possible that this appeals to me simply because I am very attracted to hippies and somber girls who serve drinks from behind counters.
If I weren't as lazy and unmotivated as I am, I would more fully utilize your talents and get you to work on something for me. Notice, please, that I said 'for' me and not 'with' me. I intend to just sit back and make you do almost everything, then tack my name on whatever it is that you come up with, all the while making it seem like I worked really hard on it.

rednikaiaG responds:

Well then. . . gay cartoon, voice projector, at your service, ageReason------>
You know, whether you have a thing for hippie chicks and coffeehouse girls OR you merely liked the skit itself, I thank you for leaving a review and letting me know! As for you being cold, I've never noticed. But, it's possible I'm just oblivious to your cold and evil ways.
Yeah, I really thought we were gonna get something done awhile back, when we were talking about it. Eh, what can you do, right? I'm still game if you're interested. Although, I can't animate, (well, I don't have Flash) so I'm not sure WHAT we'd end up doing.
Thanx for taking time out of your cold hearted and chilling day, to leave me a review, ageReason. It was well worth the bribe, Man. Anytime you need a gay cartoon character's voice, you KNOW where I am.
